Another holiday in the books! We had a fun weekend full of egg hunts, birthday parties, and candy. We also rounded out the festivities with a stomach bug for Hudson and a mystery fever for Lucy. Yay preschool!
Saturday we met up with some friends for an egg hunt in the park. It was so fun watching the kids go for the eggs. The parent-competitiveness was pretty intense at the under two hunt, particularly since the eggs were full of candy and choking hazards. ๐
We rallied after the Easter egg hunt with a birthday party for the big kids. It was dino themed and so adorable. You may have seen on my IG stories that they even had a reptile show.
After naps we continued with the merry-making and finished dyeing our Easter eggs. In the traditional Ahrens way, in the backyard, in undies. Harper wouldn’t be swayed from the bib addition this year.
I just love seeing those chubby little hands dipping eggs every year! We managed to keep the egg casualties to a minimum. Lucy only crushed two eggs and dumped over the red dye, like the tiny baby-zilla she is.
We managed to scrub our hands clean and plant magic jelly beans before bed.
Sunday morning brought a mad dash to the 8:30 am service to which we were (predictably) late for. Hudson was moving pretty slow all morning but I just chalked it up to a long Saturday and early morning (foreshadowing).
We made it home to see what the Easter Bunny had brought and the kids were thrilled.
May we all be thrilled with our blessings as Harper is over a new pair of flip flops.
More about what I filled our baskets with here. TL;DR version: PJs, new plates, bubbles, and books. Oh, and a new toothbrush because candy.
Approximately 4 seconds after this picture Matt announced to the group, let’s all get a family picture, to which Hudson turned and projectile vomited everywhere. The child has a thing for timing.
But we took a picture anyway! FOR THE MEMORIES. Winning at parenting, one holiday at a time. I’ll let you know when my book drops. ๐
We recouped the rest of the day napping (Hudson) and running off a sugar high (Harper). I hope your weekend was just as fun and hopefully less puke-y than ours.
